Losing Another "Day 1" Landmark

When I first moved down to Texas, there were three places a friend of mine took me to on my first day here and thus they had a special kind of significance to me. Granted, they are an eclectic group; a gourmet burger place (where you could load up your plates with beans and fries plus an ice cream cone for desert, all in a 50's style place), a grocery store (where I got food and some other stuff), and a bowling alley (where we played games in the arcade).

Of these places, the burger place closed ages ago. And yesterday I saw a flyer that the grocery store was about to close in a week or so. True, I hadn't gone there in a while (they never put in self-checkout, and I love that) but still you like to see things continue on. Perhaps I should go to the bowling alley soon.
